Carousel Ride!

 Friday, March 2, I surprised Jacob and picked him up early from school.  He and I went to the Mall of Louisiana to have a "Jacob afternoon."  In the car, we were able to BLAST his favorite song from "CARS"...Sheryl Crow's "Real Gone".  Whenever we usually listen to it on the way to school, Jacob wants me to play it loud, but I tell him we can't because Joe is in the car. So, today, we were able to play it louder.

Sidenote:  Jacob was in the school office sitting with the Director on Wednesday talking about whatever while I went to drop off Joseph in his classroom.  When I finished with Joe, I walked into the office and the Director says, "Jacob was just telling me something very interesting.  He said that he likes to play with a real gun in the car.  Do you know why he's saying that?  Does Daddy have a gun in the car?"  I started laughing and I finally said, "No, not a real gun...he likes to play 'Real Gone'---it's a song from Cars."  At that Jacob says, "See, Ms. Nina, I told you it was the truth."

Back to our day...

When we got to the second floor, I can only imagine what his eyes did when they fixated on the Carousel that was in action.  He immediately said that he had to get on there!  Once it was our turn, he found the tiger that he wanted to ride.  The Old Man who was operating the Carousel came to help Jacob on the tiger.  He tried to lift him, but I could see he was struggling.  At the same time I was going to take over, he asked if I could help with his legs.

We rode the Carousel a few times, then went to buy a Batman shirt.  He kept saying he was hungry, so we also went to get some Ice Cream: chocolate and vanilla with strawberries on top.  It had been raining, so we did get caught in the rain, which he thought was funny.  After ice cream, he wanted a Cupcake too, so we ran in the rain to get a cupcake.  While I was making the selection of what cupcakes to buy, Jacob was touching the little cake balls that were on the counter, so guess what else we bought!!! 

Then, it was back to the Carousel!  Jacob declared that it was so much fun having fun on the Tiger.  It was definitely fun to watch Jacob on the Carousel. At first he knew he was going to have fun, but he was a bit nervous. By the time the fourth time on the Carousel came, Jacob was a pro.  He was waving to everyone in the Food Court as he passed them.

The next time Jacob comes with me to the Mall, I suppose I will have to make time for a Carousel ride...or two...or four!
