Hands in the Cement

The men who were laying the concrete at our new house Friday met Jacob Leier:

Hi, Dude. What's your name?
(name given)

My name is Jacob. Is it time to put my initials in the cement?  I have my stick ready for you. I'm going to write J-M-L...that's me.  This is my brother. His name is Joseph. He's going to write J-R-L. Do you know what those letters stand for?  Mine are J-M-L because my name is Jacob Michael Leier, so that's my initials.  My father's name is Greg Michael Leier, so my middle name and his middle name are the same:  Michael. Joe's initals are J-R-L because his name is Joseph Russell Leier. That's my mother over there...she is Penne Russell Leier, so Joe's middle name and her middle name are the same too.  They are both Russell.
Who are all the other guys who are working here?  What are their names?

(names given, few of which are nicknames)

Those are funny names. Are those the names that their Momma gave them? My Momma doesn't always call me Jacob. She calls me 'Beanie' and my brother 'Joe-fuss.' My daddy calls him 'Poot Toot' though because he farts all the time.
Is it time to put my initials in there yet?  Can I walk on there yet?
("No, not yet...probably another 30 minutes or so."  Looks at me and says, "this guy is a trip."
ME:  "Good, he's yours...be back after 5pm"
