Cuteness Overload

This year is the first year that both boys are in a sport at the same time

Joseph is in T-Ball and Jacob is in Coaches Pitch, both at MBS. We took the boys to Academy to get their equipment. Although Joe can make use of a few of Jacob's things (shoes, bat), there are still things that we needed to get him also.
He selected a black bat bag and tried on a pair of batting gloves. (He had already received his first glove for Christmas.) He also needed a white pair of pants and a royal blue belt.  The school will give him the jersey and hat.

The next day, Greg got the boys in the front yard to practice hitting, catching, and throwing. Before he could go outside, Joseph had to put on his "new baseball shoes," (Jacob's old ones with dirt on them) his gloves, and his belt. He also was excited to grab his bag and carry it across the street.

It's amazing at what happens when a child listens to his father instead of arguing about why his bat is being held incorrectly.

I'm not sure why Jacob suddenly began listening to his father...maturity, having an audience, competing with Joe for some one-on-one time...but he listened for a change.

Watching Jacob listening and getting the compliments from his father, Joseph followed suit. The only thing Joseph would get frustrated at was when Greg would pitch to Jacob, but Joe had to hit the ball off the tee.  Thus, Greg also pitched to Joseph.  And yes, he hit the ball a few times.

It was a pleasure to watch them playing and getting along.

"Keep your eye on the ball."

"Turn and throw"

"Look at where your feet are"

"Pay attention to what's happening."

They listened, absorbed, and reacted accordingly.  How does that happen? So, I kept my  mouth shut, observed, took pictures, and loved life.

They played in the front yard yesterday afternoon past dinnertime.  I love Daylight Savings.
Both boys had a blast...and they were pooped afterwards. I think we found what some of the activities are that will be held at the Leier Summer Camp in June and July.
