Big Boy Baseball

I sat down with my 2013 calendar to jot down the important dates and holidays from the school calendar.  School is closed for a week in February for Mardi Gras, a week in March/April for Easter and then the last day of school is May 15th. No wonder these kids grow up so fast.  School is a black hole. Maybe the key to preventing them from growing up is to avoid school.  School is bad for your Momma.  Joseph, sorry...no school for you.

To keep Jacob somewhat entertained while he is out of school, we have begun entertaining the sports notion.  He has a great time doing his drills and such that he is learning at his "basketball" every week, so now we are trying to see what else he is interested in.  Baseball?  Golf?  Since football doesn't exist, that's not an option.  Football is bad for your Momma.

He picked baseball...probably because it meant going to the store to buy a new bat, tee and some batting gloves.  Thus, while the majority of the world watched the Presidential Inauguration on MLK day, we focused on our boys. Jacob and Greg drove the equipment to the neighborhood park while Joseph and I followed behind in the stroller. There, Jacob tried his talent at the tee while Joseph practiced running...and climbing. Go figure!

Greg said that Jacob did well for his first time with the bat and Jacob loved wearing his "mittens." Both boys must have been pooped because after a while, Joseph starting pushing the stroller out of the park.  And Jacob...well, he got quiet. Weird.

  1. Jacob certainly is keeping his eye on the ball. Good going, Jacob. And Joseph is just another subject!!! Love 'em both so much.
