Our first born son has had a rough few days.
On Monday, he wasn't getting along with his friends because he had to argue with each one of them in each activity they did together.
On Tuesday, one of the Directors from the school called me to inform me that she had Jacob in her office because of his behavior. Long story short: He slapped a friend in the face after the friend hit him. When I went to pick him up from school that afternoon, his face was "Holy Crap, she's here." After his teacher and I spoke about that, we dealt with the behavior at home too.
On Wednesday, he behaved better at school, but decided not to listen that afternoon...which brings me to Wednesday night.
I crawled in bed with Jacob to have a heart-to-heart conversation with him about his rough week.
When the conversation was coming to a close, I asked him if he was going to behave tomorrow. While sobbing, he managed to tell me, "I can't do it, Momma."
"Why can't you listen and be nice to your friends, Jacob?"
Through the tears, he replied, "Because I lost my mind."
Trying my hardest to contain my laughter, I finally said, "I think you can get your mind right and listen, don't you?
"No, Momma...only on Thursday."
"Well, Jacob, you're in luck because tomorrow is Thursday, so can you listen and be nice to your friends."
He nods, wipes the tears from his eyes and says, "I think so on Thursday and Friday and Saturday and Sunday."
We'll have to see what happens again on Monday!
